Community Service
This year, all RFL students will again be required to complete 2.5 hours of community service by the end of each quarter. Last year many students completed a portion of their hours on their own by helping neighbors, volunteering at charity events or doing work at their places of worship. Resiliency staff coordinated participation at events like the Walk for Hunger, Autism Walk, Habitat for Humanity and the Relay for Life and some general tasks around the school. Because we are the beneficiaries of tremendous generosity, we believe strongly that our students should demonstrate their understanding of and appreciation for the kindness of others.
Parent Information Meeting
Parent Meetings will begin in earnest on September 20. Dinner will be served from 5:45 to 6:15, and we will begin the program shortly thereafter. All RFL parents and students are expected to attend the first meeting during which we will explain some changes in the program for this school year. See the RFL calendar for other parent meeting dates. The meeting on December 13th will be a potluck holiday supper. Remember, teacher progress reports are distributed at the parent meetings.
Apple Picking at Lookout Farm in Natick
Opportunities to socialize with Resiliency students and staff outside of school will begin with an apple picking trip in early October. There is no cost associated with participating in this event. We’ll announce a date real soon.
